Smart Information Use

Using research to support effective and appropriate use of information

This site provides the story of a research study funded by the Australian Research Council to investigate the link between information use and plagiarism. Details of the study, how it was conducted, and how it played out in each of the schools are provided in The Stories.

A number of publications have appeared in journals related to this study.

We've collected here the teaching materials - School Resource Kits - that were developed for the study, and teachers and teacher librarians may use, modify, and get ideas from these. School Resource Kits appear under the Teaching Materials section.

Many other pages exist on the Internet related to avoiding plagiarism. We hope you will find what you need under these Useful Links.

Please feel free to talk to us about these issues. We look forward to a professional, productive discussion.
